Clare George-Hilley joined Parliament Street shortly after its inception in 2012 and manages Parliament Street’s research output.
Clare also leads Parliament Street’s campaigns on social and community issues and doubles up as our Director of Communities and Social Justice.
She is a former Councillor in the London Borough of Croydon.
Clare has a passion for international aid projects, supporting African countries with volunteer work in Kenya, the Street Child Project in Sierra Leone and The Glove Project in The Gambia. In 2014 Charity publication Civil Society covered a piece on Clare’s fundraising work using social media to support communities in Africa.
Clare leads Parliament Street’s campaigns on social and community issues and is a columnist for The Commentator. She has also conducted extensive media work including broadcast interviews with the Daily Telegraph and Sky News. Clare has also contributed to articles in The Evening Standard, The Guardian, Telegraph Online, The Sunday Express and Politics.co.uk..
In January 2014, Clare launched a campaign in The Sunday Telegraph calling for more protection for Christian leaders against violent attacks. Coverage also appeared in The Times newspaper and other international news outlets. She has been a vocal campaigner for the protection of Christians from persecution in both the UK and abroad.
