On Wednesday 7th May 2014, Parliament Street hosted a panel discussion event called “Russia vs. The West”. The event was held in Committee Room 6 of the House of Commons.
This event discussed the then current situation in the Ukraine and the future of the West’s relationship with Russia.
The panellists for the event were –
Dr Charles Tannock MEP – Member of the European Parliament for London. In the European Parliament he is Foreign Affairs and Human Rights Spokesman for the UK Conservative delegation.
Daniel Hamilton – a Partner and Director of European Affairs at Bell Pottinger, one of Europe’s largest government relations firms. Dan is an expert on foreign policy and frozen conflict zones.
Professor Orlando Figes – Professor of History at Birkbeck College and the author of ‘A People’s tragedy: The Russian Revolution, 1891 – 1924 which received the Wolfson Prize, the NCR Book Award, The WH Smith Literary Award, the Longman/ History Today Book Prize and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize.
