This evening, Parliament Street hosted a symposium on the threat of cyber-crime in Portcullis House.
The event was expertly chaired by the coordinator of our Highway to Tomorrow policy group, Steven George-Hilley.
The event was well attended, with over 80 people, many from the security and tech industries, in attendance and offering great questions and excellent insights from the floor.
On the panel were:
Matthew Scott, Police and Crime Commissioner for Kent
Bernard Parsons, CEO and founder of BeCrypt
Ruth Davis, Head of Cyber for BT
James Brady, Deputy Head of Speciality at Hiscox
Issues discussed included cyberbullying, malicious communications and stalking on social media. Also discussed were the social responsibilities, tech companies need to recognise, come with the great power they have over our lives and some of the programmes that Government is putting into place to tackle cyber crime.
Matthew Scott also covered the event on his website.
