Former Cabinet Minister Liam Fox has addressed the membership of the Blue Collar Conservatism group at party conference in Manchester, calling on delegates to embrace ‘Liberation Conservatism.’
He told the audience, ‘Politics is not about theory, it’s about human experience…..Under Thatcher the Conservative Party was a genuine engine of social mobility.’
‘Social mobility has ground to a halt in this country. Labour’s spend and depend culture pushed Thatcher’s vision off course.”
“We will be spending more money on our debt than education for our children,’ he added.
