Guido Fawkes: Fox on the Loose

Guido Fawkes, writing for the Sun on Sunday (29/04/2015), reports on Liam Fox’s speech at the launch of Parliament Street’s book, Smart Government.

“DAVID CAMERON named Boris Johnson, George Osborne and Theresa May as his three potential successors as Tory leader – but it was another big beast who threw his hat into the ring last week.

Overly-ambitious former Defence Secretary Liam Fox told a room of supporters at the Parliament Street think tank the Tories needed “an energy that the party has lacked for some time”, warning: “We used to think it was really important to talk in language that people could understand.”

Fox mystically argued: “We as a party are at our strongest when we welcome new ideas. We have to have clear messages.”

And in a thinly veiled dig at his opponents, he claimed “successful political parties don’t pick personalities and hope the agenda follows.

Successful political parties pick an agenda and then they find the right person to front it.”

Who could he possibly mean?”
