Daily Mail: The revenge porn victims as young as twelve

Almost 200 cases of revenge porn have been reported to police in the past six months – with some victims only 12 years old, figures have shown.

The Government introduced a law criminalising the offence in April, after a spate of cases in which vengeful former lovers shared intimate images online.

Earlier this year it emerged that 14 police forces had recorded 139 revenge porn allegations in the six months before the legislation came into force.

However the new figures, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, show for the first time how many revenge porn cases have been reported since the new law was passed.

Steven George-Hilley, director of technology at the think-tank Parliament Street, which obtained the data, said: ‘Revenge porn is a horrific crime which regularly leads to victims contemplating suicide.
