Parliament Street contribute to research for The Times

James Downes, Director of British and European Politics at Parliament Street, has helped contribute towards research published in The Times newspaper. The preliminary research shows that at this early stage both Remain and Leave groups are focusing the bulk of their campaigns on their respective key heartlands and constituencies.

Both camps, therefore, and at least at this early stage, appear to be hunkering down in their heartlands, focusing on mobilising their existing supporters, rather than dwelling heavily on more divided territory.

Alongside Professor Matthew Goodwin (Kent), Dr Caitlin Milazzo (Nottingham) and Dr Laura Sudulich, James is working as a Research Assistant on the ESRC funded ‘UK in a Changing Europe’ project. This project tracks the dynamics of the EU Referendum campaign across both Remain and Leave groups.
