Derbyshire Times report on Parliament Street mental health research

Tuesday 7th February 2017

New research by Parliament Street has revealed the extent of lack of funding and provision related to mental health incidents. By analysing police case reports, Parliament Street identified more than 300,000 cases related to people with a mental disorder, who felt they had no other support around them.

Speaking to the Derbyshire Times, Danny Bowman, our mental health spokesman, said: “These findings reveal the shocking numbers of mental health issues currently being dealt with by police forces across the country.

“It’s time to recognise that Britain needs a better funded strategic plan to ensure people who are suffering with mental health problems are properly cared for by specialist health services.”
