Patrick Sullivan, of Parliament Street, a think tank, said HMRC had botched its hybrid working strategy, despite spending millions. “Customer backlogs and delays are at sky high levels,” he said.
He added: “Implementing an efficient remote working strategy is about more than buying a fleet of laptops, it’s about ensuring members of staff are fully trained to operate effectively from any location.”
