Government departments bought hundreds of Zoom licences despite security fears over video meeting app

Thursday 21st May 2020

The Daily Mirror reports today on new Parliament Street research which reveals that Civil Service chiefs have ordered a total of 731 Zoom licences since the COVID-19 outbreak began. 550 of these are for the Ministry of Defence.

This is despite Whitehall bosses having been warned by the National Cyber Security Centre, part of intelligence agency GCHQ, that Zoom should only be used for public business.
